Mike has been working with his voice, for almost two decades.

It started as a teenager, instructing military drill as an Air Cadet (his volume, clarity and projection were unequalled!). This grew into work as a Fitness Instructor and Strength Coach where he would rely on his communication skills and impressive vocal range to train everyone from individuals just beginning their training, groups of over 200 in his renowned Circuits class, up to World Champions, such as the Paralympic Medallist, Millie Knight

His vocal talents were spotted as he Staffed an Obstacle Course Race, and he was asked to become the Event MC for Spartan Race UK, where he became known as ‘Mike on the Mic’! His voice proved to be a big hit with, staff, runners and spectators alike, and eventually the requests for audiobooks and narrations were so frequent that he decided that that is just what he would do, which leads us here!

Beyond vocal work, and Strength Coaching, Mike is an avid Naturalist, with several short nature documentaries in the works, including an ongoing collaboration with Chloé Savard, a Canadian Microbiologist who runs the popular Instagram page @Tardibabe.

He is also writing a ground-breaking book on injury-preventative and recuperative physical mobility. While the primary audience intended audience is the Military and Athletes of all kinds, it is also ideal for the wider public. Mike used himself as a guinea pig to develop these methods, experimenting over several years to help treat a chronic leg and back injury. As a result, he succeeded where all other treatments had failed, and was pain free for the first time in twenty years. Since then these methods have been used to great effect upon volunteer world-class athletes.

Finally, Mike is also a PhD Researcher at the University of Leeds, focusing on the role of Civil-Military Unity of Effort, within counter-insurgency.
