I have been involved in numerous short documentary projects, including an ongoing collaboration with Canadian Microbiologist Chloé Savard. Together, our footage has been viewed Hundreds of thousands of times.
I always research the topics before recording, because I believe that in order to sound like you know the topic, you must actually know the topic!
One of the most important aspects of Voice Over is Teaching. Simply ‘speaking’ is not enough- you have to be informed and engaging in order to hold the audience’s attention. As with Documentary work, I will always research the subject matter in order to understand, and therefore teach the matter. Merely reading a script ‘parrot fashion’ is not acceptable!
